Annwyl Deuluoedd,

Paratoi ar gyfer yr Asesiad Gwobr Arian

Mae'n bleser gennym gyhoeddi bod ein hysgol yn paratoi ar gyfer asesiad y Wobr Arian fel rhan o Achrediad Ysgol sy'n Parchu Hawliau UNICEF yr wythnos nesaf. Mae’r asesiad wedi’i drefnu ar gyfer dydd Mercher, ac rydym yn awyddus i arddangos yr ymdrechion a’r mentrau anhygoel a gyflawnwyd gan ein plant, staff a rhanddeiliaid. Y llynedd, enillon ni Wobr Efydd UNICEF.

Dros y blynyddoedd diwethaf, mae ein hysgol wedi cychwyn ar daith i wreiddio egwyddorion Confensiwn y Cenhedloedd Unedig ar Hawliau’r Plentyn (CCUHP) ym mhob agwedd o fywyd ysgol. O ymgorffori addysg seiliedig ar hawliau yn y cwricwlwm i feithrin cyfranogiad plant a chyfleoedd arweinyddiaeth, mae ein hymdrechion wedi bod yn ganmoladwy. Mae ein polisïau cynhwysol, ein gweithgareddau amrywiol, ac eiriolaeth ymroddedig wedi gosod sylfaen gref ar gyfer ennill y Wobr Arian.

Rydym yn hynod falch o’r brwdfrydedd a’r ymroddiad a ddangoswyd gan ein plant wrth gofleidio gwerthoedd parch, tegwch, ac urddas i bawb. Trwy fentrau amrywiol megis cynghorau disgyblion, dulliau cyfiawnder adferol, a gwasanaethau sy’n canolbwyntio ar hawliau, mae ein plant wedi cyfrannu’n frwd at greu ethos parchu hawliau o fewn ein hysgol.

Os byddwn yn derbyn y Wobr Arian hon bydd yn dangos cryfder cyfunol ein cymuned ac yn caniatáu i ni arddangos effaith ein hymdrechion ac ailddatgan ein hymrwymiad i greu amgylchedd diogel, cynhwysol, sy’n parchu hawliau ar gyfer holl aelodau ein cymuned ysgol.

Diolch am eich cefnogaeth barhaus a'ch ymrwymiad i hawliau plant.

Y Camau Nesaf i Feithrin Annibyniaeth Plant

Byddwch yn gwybod yn barod ein bod yn canolbwyntio’n galed ar ddatblygu annibyniaeth plant fel rhan o’n Cynllun Datblygu Ysgol ac fel rhan o’n ffocws Ôl-Estyn. Rhan o hyn fu datblygu fframwaith sy’n amlinellu’r hyn y mae annibyniaeth yn ei olygu mewn gwirionedd ar wahanol lefelau gallu ac adrodd i chi ar lafar yn ein Cyfarfodydd Cynnydd a Lles Disgyblion ac adrodd yn ysgrifenedig yn adroddiad ysgol diweddaraf eich plentyn.

Mae ein hysgol yn falch o fod yn rhan o grŵp deinamig o ysgolion sydd wedi dod at ei gilydd i sefydlu tasglu gyda’r nod o feithrin annibyniaeth plant. Gan gydnabod pwysigrwydd grymuso dysgwyr ifanc i ddod yn unigolion hunanddibynnol, gwydn, rydym wedi dod at ein gilydd i rannu arferion gorau, adnoddau, a strategaethau i gefnogi eu datblygiad.

Trwy gyfarfodydd rheolaidd, ymchwil, a phrosiectau cydweithredol, mae ein tasglu yn harneisio arbenigedd a phrofiadau cyfunol yr ysgolion sy’n cymryd rhan. Trwy gyfuno ein gwybodaeth a'n hadnoddau, gallwn nodi heriau cyffredin yn effeithiol, archwilio atebion arloesol, a gweithredu ymyriadau sy'n seiliedig ar dystiolaeth i hybu annibyniaeth plant.

Trwy gydweithio, anelwn at gyflawni canlyniadau diriaethol sydd o fudd nid yn unig i’r plant o fewn ein hysgolion unigol ond hefyd i’r gymuned addysgol ehangach. Boed trwy ddatblygu gwelliannau i’r cwricwlwm, gweithredu rhaglenni cymorth wedi’u targedu, neu ddosbarthu canllawiau arfer da, mae ein hymdrechion ar y cyd yn anelu at ysgogi newid cadarnhaol a thrawsnewid y dirwedd addysgol.

Preparing for the Silver Award Assessment

We are thrilled to announce that our school is gearing up for the Silver Award assessment as part of UNICEF's Rights Respecting School Accreditation next week. This prestigious accolade signifies our commitment to upholding children's rights and promoting a culture of respect, equality, and inclusion within our school community. The assessment is scheduled for Wednesday, and we are eager to showcase the incredible efforts and initiatives undertaken by our children, staff, and stakeholders. Last year, we gained the UNICEF Bronze Award.

Over the past few years, our school has embarked on a journey to embed the principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) into every aspect of school life. From embedding rights-based education into the curriculum to fostering pupil participation and leadership opportunities, our efforts have been commendable. Our inclusive policies, diverse activities, and dedicated advocacy have laid a strong foundation for achieving the Silver Award.

We are immensely proud of the enthusiasm and dedication demonstrated by our children in embracing the values of respect, fairness, and dignity for all. Through various initiatives such as pupil councils, restorative justice approaches, and rights-focused assemblies, our children have actively contributed to creating a rights-respecting ethos within our school.

If we are granted this Silver Award it will demonstrate the collective strength of our community and allow us to showcase the impact of our efforts and reaffirm our commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and rights-respecting environment for all members of our school community.

Thank you for your continued support and commitment to children's rights.

Next Steps to Foster Children's Independence

You will know already that we are focusing hard on developing children’s independence as part of our School Development Plan and as part of our Post-Estyn focus. Part of this has been developing a framework which outlines what independence actually means at different ability levels and reporting to you verbally at our Pupil Progress and Wellbeing Meetings and reporting in writing in your child’s most recent school report.

Our school is proud to be part of a dynamic group of schools that have joined forces to establish a task force aimed at nurturing children's independence. Recognising the importance of empowering young learners to become self-reliant, resilient individuals, we have come together to share best practices, resources, and strategies to support their development.

Through regular meetings, research, and collaborative projects, our task force harnesses the collective expertise and experiences of participating schools. By pooling our knowledge and resources, we can effectively identify common challenges, explore innovative solutions, and implement evidence-based interventions to promote children's independence.

By working together, we aim to achieve tangible outcomes that benefit not only the children within our individual schools but also the wider educational community. Whether through the development of curriculum enhancements, the implementation of targeted support programmes, or the dissemination of good practice guidelines, our collective efforts are aiming to drive positive change and transform the educational landscape.
