Trefniadau Pontio

Yfory, rydym yn bwriadu anfon llythyron unigol at deuluoedd yn nodi trefniadau staffio a diwrnodau symud i fyny'r flwyddyn nesaf. Fel y gwyddoch, mae pontio a newidiadau yn rhan o fywyd pawb. Mae mwyafrif o blant a phobl ifanc yn edrych ymlaen at symud ymlaen i heriau newydd a chyffrous. Fodd bynnag, gall y newidiadau hyn fod yn fwy heriol i rai.

Ar wahân i lond llaw o deuluoedd unigolion yr ydym eisoes wedi cyfarfod â nhw, nid oes unrhyw newid i gyfansoddiad y dosbarthiadau. Mae hyn yn golygu y bydd plant yn symud i fyny gyda'r ffrindiau maen nhw eisoes wedi'u gwneud dros yr ychydig flynyddoedd diwethaf.

Byddwn yn dal diwrnodau symud i fyny dros yr wythnosau nesaf. Mae rheini wedi nodi yn y llythyr.

Ar y dyddiau hyn, bydd y plant yn dod i'w hystafell ddosbarth arferol ac yn cofrestru gyda'u hathrawon arferol cyn symud dosbarth. Yna, ar ddiwedd y dydd, byddant yn dychwelyd i'w dosbarthiadau arferol i'w codi neu fynd ar eu bysiau.

Wrth i mi orffen y llythyr hwn, gofynnaf i chi fel teuluoedd un peth: rwy'n ymwybodol y gall pontio fod ychydig yn frawychus i rai – ond yn fy mhrofiad i, mae plant yn fwy gwydn nag yr ydym yn aml yn rhoi clod iddynt. Efallai y bydd gennych gwestiynau yr hoffech eu codi neu bethau yr hoffech eu trafod. Mae 'Uwch Dîm Arwain' yr ysgol a minnau wrth law i drafod achos eich plentyn unigol. Gofynnaf ichi ddod atom i drafod unrhyw gwestiynau neu bryderon gan mai ni yw'r rhai a fydd yn cael yr atebion. Gallwch wneud hyn yn hawdd iawn drwy gysylltu â swyddfa'r ysgol a gofyn am alwad ffôn neu gyfarfod. (Gyda llaw: ni allwn drafod materion sensitif am blant unigol a'u pontio gyda chi wrth gatiau'r ysgol – mae'n llawer gwell gwneud hynny dros y ffôn neu mewn cyfarfod.) Yn ogystal, mae'r cyfryngau cymdeithasol yn arf pwerus iawn y gellir ei ddefnyddio er cymaint o les ond, mewn amgylchiadau eraill, gall achosi llawer o bryder i deuluoedd. Diolch ichi ymlaen llaw am eich synhwyroldeb a'ch gofal ynglŷn â'r mater hwn.

Mae staff newydd eich plentyn a minnau'n edrych ymlaen at weithio gyda chi yn agos, wrth inni symud ymlaen, i sicrhau bod eich plentyn yn gwireddu ei uchelgais a'i botensial.

Mae'r wybodaeth hon yn unol â'n polisi trosglwyddo sydd i'w gweld ar ein gwefan.

Cynllun Chwarae Haf

Rydym yn falch iawn o fod yn cynnal cynllun Bwyd a Hwyl Haf Torfaen Play unwaith eto. Bydd hyn yn rhedeg o ddydd Llun, 31ain Gorffennaf tan ddydd Iau, 24ain Awst.

Esboniodd un o fy staff y bu rhywfaint o drafod ar dudalen Facebook Ffrindiau Panteg am hyn gan fod Ysgol Gynradd New Inn eisoes wedi rhyddhau gwybodaeth yn gynharach na'r hyn a gynlluniwyd amdani. Roeddem yn cwblhau manylion y trefniant ac yn sicrhau staffio iaith Gymraeg - a dyna pam mae oedi bach. O ganlyniad - nid oedd y ffurflen i fod i fynd allan tan y dydd Gwener hwn. Os ydych wedi cofnodi diddordeb i'ch plentyn ei fynychu - gan nad oedd y ffurflen i fod i fynd allan, nid yw wedi bod yn logio'r cofnodion ar gyfer Ysgol Panteg. Rwyf wedi siarad â'r tîm ac wedi gofyn i'r ffurflen gael ei hagor yn gynnar ar gyfer plant Ysgol Panteg o heddiw ymlaen. Felly, os ydych chi wedi ei lenwi gan ddefnyddio'r ddolen o Ysgol New Inn - mae angen i chi lenwi'r ffurflen eto i sicrhau bod eich cais wedi'i logio.

Fel yn y gorffennol, byddaf bob amser yn rhoi gwybod ichi yn bersonol mewn amser da o ddigwyddiadau a byddaf yn gwneud hynny trwy'r bwletin hwn.

Diolch Enfawr

Rwyf am ddweud diolch enfawr am eich cefnogaeth dros y gwyliau hanner tymor. Roedd yn wych gweld cymaint ohonoch chi, a oedd yn gallu, mynychu fy mhriodas ddydd Mawrth diwethaf. Cefais fy twymgaloni gymaint gan yr anrheg plant - roedd y llyfr bach o ddymuniadau gorau y gwnaethant i gyd eu llofnodi.

Byddem yn gwerthfawrogi os all pawb lenwi'r holiadur hwn i gyd oherwydd bydd hyn yn ein helpu i ddathlu llwyddiant, sicrhau hyfforddiant staff digonol ar gyfer pwyntiau a godwyd a chynllunio ar gyfer gwella. Dilynwch y ddolen isod:

RECEPTION TO YEAR 5

Class Transition Arrangements

Tomorrow, we are planning on sending out individual letters to families stating next year's staffing and class moving up days arrangements. As you know, transitions and changes are part of everyone's life. The vast majority of children and young people look forward to moving on to new and exciting challenges. However, these transitions can be more challenging for some.

Apart from a handful of individuals' families we have already met with, there is no change to the make up of classes. This means that children will be moving up with the friends they have already made over the last few years.

We will be holding moving up days over the next few weeks. The dates are noted in the letter to you.

On these days, the children will come to their usual classroom and register with their usual teachers before moving class. Then, at the end of the day, they will return to their usual classes for pick-up or getting on their buses.

I ask of you as families one thing: I am aware that transition can be a little daunting – but in my experience, children are more resilient than we often give them credit for. You might have questions that you wish to raise or things you want to discuss. The school’s ‘Senior Leadership Team’ and myself are on hand to discuss the case of your individual child. I ask that you come to us to discuss any questions or concerns since we are the ones who will have the answers. You can do this very easily by contacting the school office and requesting a phone call or meeting. (As an aside: we can’t discuss sensitive matters about individual children and their transition with you at the school gates – it is much better to do that via telephone or meeting.) In addition, social media is an immensely powerful tool that can be used for so much good but, in other circumstances, can cause much worry to families. I thank you in advance for your sensibility and your care with regards to this matter.

Both your child’s new staff and I are looking forward to working with you closely, as we move forward, to ensure that your child realises their ambition and potential.

This information is in line with our transition policy which can be found on our website.

Summer Play Scheme

We are delighted to once again be hosting Torfaen Play's Summer Food and Fun Play Scheme. This will be running from Monday, 31st July and runs until Thursday, 24th August.

One of my staff explained that there had been some discussion on Ffrindiau Panteg's Facebook page about this since New Inn Primary had already released information earlier than planned. We were finalising arrangement details and ensuring Welsh language staffing - hence our slight delay. As a result - the form was not due to go out until this Friday. If you have logged an interest for your child to attend - since the form was not due to go out, it has not been logging the entries for Ysgol Panteg. I have spoken to the team and requested the form to be opened early for Ysgol Panteg children from today. Therefore, if you have filled it out using the link from New Inn Primary - you need to fill out the form again to ensure that your request is logged.

As in the past, I will always let you know personally in good time of events and will do that through this Bulletin.

Huge Thank You

I just want to say a huge thank you for your support over the half term holiday. It was great to see so many of you, who were able, to attend my wedding last Tuesday. I was so touched by the children's gift - the little book of good wishes that they all signed was so wonderful.

Ysgol Gymraeg Gwynllyw's Governing Body

We have received a message from Mark Jones, new headteacher of Ysgol Gymraeg Gwynllyw. The Governing Body are looking for two community governors to sit on their governing body. If you are interested, please contact Gwynllyw and they will facilitate the next steps. This is a great chance for parents of Ysgol Panteg to have a role in shaping the secondary education of their children.

YEARS 5 AND 6

Ysgol Gymraeg Gwynllyw's Open Evening

On Thursday, 29th of June, Ysgol Gymraeg Gwynllyw will be hosting an open evening for families to look around. During the evening, there will be two sessions, the first starting at 16:00 and second at 17:15.

Both sessions will start with a presentation from the Senior Leadership Team in the hall in Gwladys building. During the presentation you will receive further information about how the school runs from day to day, you will then have the opportunity to be taken on a tour of the school and meet the staff with members of the Sixth Form.

For Year 5 families, this is a great opportunity to look around maybe for the first time.

For Year 6 families, there will be an information pack with information about starting in September and there will be a school uniform stand available.

They kindly ask that you register for a session using using this link: https://forms.gle/59YWfyoH6RSbsPEB9

EVERYONE

Visit of Mark Jones, Head of Ysgol Gymraeg Gwynllyw

On Thursday, 6th of July, we will be hosting Mark Jones (Head of Ysgol Gymraeg Gwynllyw) at our school from 4:30-5:30 for a presentation on Gwynllyw's development since successfully developing and coming out of an Estyn category. This is a great chance to hear about what the school has to offer, its journey and where it is heading. The idea behind this is that you will be able to hear their story, ask questions and make informed choices about secondary school places. This is open for all families - from Reception to Year 6.
