Annwyl Deuluoedd,
Datblygiad yr Ysgol
Dros yr wythnosau diwethaf, rydym wedi ymdrin â 3 o’n blaenoriaethau datblygu ysgol. Mae gennym ddau ar ôl i'w rhannu!
Blaenoriaeth 1: Datblygu Sgiliau Meddwl Critigol Plant trwy fewnoli Athroniaeth i Blant ar draws yr ysgol, mireinio ansawdd trafod, a datblygu sgiliau metawybyddol sy’n addas o ran cam nid oedran.
Fel ysgol, rydym yn anelu at ragoriaeth. Rydym yn cydnabod ein bod ni wedi bod ar daith eleni at wireddu’r freuddwyd hon ond bod camau allweddol sydd nawr angen cymryd er mwyn cyrraedd ein gweledigaeth. Mae datblygu meddwl critigol yn hanfodol at ddatblygu cymuned teuluol, caredig sy’n angerddol ac yn uchelgeisiol. Wrth cyflawni hunan-arfarniadau’r flwyddyn academaidd diwethaf, gwelsom ein fod angen ymhelaethu ar sgiliau meddwl disgyblion yn ogystal â sgiliau metawybyddol. Wrth ddatblygu’r medrau hyn ym mhob agwedd o’r cwricwlwm ac o fewn bywyd yr ysgol fe welwn disgyblion fwyfwy annibynnol ac hyderus. Mae meddwl yn feirniadol yn helpu plant a phobl i ddeall eu hunain yn well, eu cymhellion a'u nodau. Pan allwch chi ddiddwytho gwybodaeth i ddod o hyd i'r rhannau pwysicaf a'u cymhwyso i'ch bywyd, gallwch chi newid eich sefyllfa a hyrwyddo twf personol a hapusrwydd cyffredinol. Mewn oes pan fo gan bobl fwy o fynediad at wybodaeth nag erioed o'r blaen, mae meddylwyr beirniadol yn rhagori ar ymchwil ac yn dod o hyd i'r darnau pwysicaf o wybodaeth sy'n eu gwneud yn wybodus am unrhyw bwnc penodol. Mae gan feddylwyr critigol y gallu cynhenid i weld heriau o sawl safbwynt. Mae’r nodweddion hyn yn holl bwysig ym mywyd personol, rhyng-bersonol, y gymuned a bywyd gwaith y dyfodol.
Chwistrell Trwynol Ffliw
Gweler y ddolen electronig atodedig gan y Gwasanaeth Nyrsio Ysgolion ar gyfer cydsynio i’r brechiad ffliw mewn trwynol ar gyfer eich plentyn eleni sydd wedi’i gynllunio ar gyfer Ddydd Iau, 29/09/2022. Yn y gorffennol, mae hyn wedi’i wneud ar bapur – ond eleni, mae’r GIG yn cwblhau y broses yn ddigidol. Cliciwch ar y ddolen i weld y wybodaeth a chyflwynwch eich ffurflen erbyn 12 canol dydd ar Ddydd Mercher, 28/09/2022. Mae hyn, yn amlwg, yn ddewis i deuluoedd gan ein bod yn gwybod bod barnau amrywiol ynghylch brechiadau. Yn y gorffennol, gyda ffurflenni papur, rydym wedi gallu atgoffa teuluoedd unigol sydd wedi anghofio llenwi’r ffurflen. Gyda'r ffurflen electronig hon, mae'r GIG yn storio'r data'n ddiogel ac nid oes gennym fynediad at y data. Felly, os na chaiff y ffurflen ei chwblhau, bydd y tîm nyrsio yn cymryd yn ganiataol nad ydych wedi rhoi caniatâd.
Os oes angen ffurflen ganiatâd papur arnoch, cysylltwch ag ysgol eich plentyn neu nyrs eich ysgol.
Allwch chi ein helpu ni?
Dydd Iau, ar ôl ysgol, rydym yn bwriadu dosbarthu taflenni i dai yn ein hardal leol i hysbysebu ein diwrnod agored ac y bydd teuluoedd yn fuan yn gallu gwneud cais i’w plentyn ymuno â ni yn y Meithrin a’r Derbyn. Mae hyn yn ffordd wych o gael y gair allan am ein hysgol yn ogystal â chael ychydig o ymarfer corff! Gallwch chi helpu? Llawer o ddwylo yn gwneud gwaith ysgafn!
Mae dwy ffordd y gallwch chi helpu:
(1) Rhowch wybod i ni, trwy'r ddolen isod, os gallwch chi wneud eich stryd a faint o daflenni fydd eu hangen arnoch chi. Yna gallwn anfon y rhain adref gyda’ch plentyn i chi bicio drwy’r blychau llythyrau (neu hyd yn oed yn well sgwrsio â’ch cymdogion am ein hysgol!)
(2) Gallwch roi gwybod i ni os gallwch gwrdd â ni am 3:30 ddydd Iau i ddosbarthu taflenni mewn grwpiau.
Mae hwn yn ofyn mawr - ond rwy'n mawr obeithio y bydd gennym ddigon o bobl i'n helpu i gwblhau'r swydd mewn tua awr. Yna, ni fydd yn rhaid i ni ollwng taflenni wythnos nesaf hefyd.
Gadewch i ni fynd allan i ddweud wrth y byd am ein hysgol hyfryd!

School Development
Over the last weeks, we’ve covered 3 of our school development priorities. We have two left to share!
Priority 1: Develop Children’s Critical Thinking Skills by implementing Philosophy for Children across the school, refine the quality of discussion, and developing stage-appropriate metacognitive skills.
As a school, we aim for excellence. We recognize that we have been on a journey this year to make this dream come true but that there are key steps that now need to be taken in order to reach our vision. Developing critical thinking is essential to developing as a kind community and as the reality of a school family that is fired-up and ambitious. When carrying out the self-evaluations of the last academic year, we saw that we needed to expand on pupils' thinking skills as well as their metacognitive skills. When developing these skills in all aspects of the curriculum and within the life of the school, we will see increasingly independent and confident pupils. Critical thinking helps children and adults to better understand themselves, their motivations and goals. When you can distill information to find the most important parts and apply them to your life, you can change your situation and promote personal growth and overall happiness. In an age when people have more access to information than ever before, critical thinkers excel at research and find the most important pieces of information that make them knowledgeable about any given topic. Critical thinkers have the innate ability to see challenges from multiple perspectives. These characteristics are all important in personal, interpersonal, community and future working life.
Influenza Nasal Spray
Please see the attached electronic link from the School Nursing Service for consenting to this year’s intranasal flu vaccination for your child planned for Thursday, 29/09/2022. In the past, this has been done on paper – but this year, the NHS are completing this online. Please click on the link to see the information and submit your form by 12 midday on the Wednesday, 28/09/2022. This, obviously, is a choice for families as we know there are varying opinions around vaccinations. In the past, with paper forms, we have been able to remind individual families who have forgotten to fill in the form. With this electronic form, the NHS stores the data safely and we do not have access to the data. So, if the form is not completed, the nursing team will assume that you have not given consent.
Can you help us?
Thursday, after school, we are planning a leaflet drop to houses in our local area to advertise our open day and that families will soon be able to apply for their child to join us in the Nursery and Reception. This is a great way to get the word out about our school as well as getting in a bit of exercise! Can you help? Many hands make light work!
There are two ways you can help: (1) Let us know, via the link below, if you can do your street and how many leaflets you will need. We can then send these home with your child for you to pop through letter boxes (or even better chat to your neighbours about!)
(2) You can let us know if you can meet us at 3:30 on Thursday to leaflet drop with us in groups.
This is a big ask – but I am really hoping that we will have enough people to help us complete the job in around an hour. Then, we won’t have to leaflet drop next week too.
Let’s go out and tell the world about our lovely school!
A Little Reminder about Trips of the Week
Remember that the Year 4 Trip to the Egyptian Museum is scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday) and the Year 6 trip goes on Thursday. Remember to bring enough to drink and you child’s packed lunch. Children in receipt of free-school meals will receive a packed lunch from our kitchen before leaving.
Year 6 Families
Today, we have sent out a paper copy and a digital copy of the application process for secondary schools. The link goes live tomorrow (Wednesday 21st September) at 9am! I am sure you can’t believe that your children have grown up so quick – we can’t either!
Year 5 Families
A reminder that there is a meeting on Thursday 22nd September at 4.30pm, to discuss the planned trip to Llangrannog.
