Hoffwn ddiolch yn bersonol i Mr. Dafydd Evans a Mr. Joe Masterton am eu gwaith caled. Pan wnaethom edrych ar ddyfynbrisiau newydd gan gwmnïau gwahanol ar gyfer gwefan newydd, cawsom gennym gynigion o fwy na £4,000. Camodd y ddau aelod ffyddlon hyn o staff at y marc a chynnig gwneud rhywbeth yn eu hamser eu hunain. O ganlyniad, mae gennym wefan, sy'n well nag y gallwn fod wedi gobeithio erioed, a gostiodd £129 - sy'n golygu y gallwn wario arian ar blant nid ar bethau gweinyddol. Onid oes gennym staff dawnus?
Canlyniadau Etholiad y Corff Llywodraethol
Mae'n bleser gennym gyhoeddi eich bod chi, fel rhieni a gofalwyr, wedi ethol Mr. Martyn Redwood i'r rôl 'Rhiant Lywodraethwr'. Mae'r Corff Llywodraethol a minnau mor gyffrous i ddechrau gweithio gyda Mr Redwood wrth iddo ymuno â'n rhengoedd. Dymunwn ddiolch hefyd i’r ymgeiswyr eraill a roddodd mor hael eu het yn y cylch i’w hethol ac a oedd yn fodlon sefyll fel cynrychiolydd rhieni ar y Corff Llywodraethol. Felly, rwy'n diolch yn bersonol i Amy Davies, Gavin Davies, Michelle Easen, Catherine Mogg ac Alexandra West. Roedd yn wych gwybod bod gennym gymaint o ymgeiswyr addas a chymaint o bobl yn dymuno camu i fyny i gefnogi ein hysgol.
Diwrnod Trwyn Coch / Comic Relief
Mae wedi bod yn wych gweld cymaint o steiliau gwallt gwallgof heddiw! Heddiw, rydym wedi bod yn codi arian ar gyfer Comic Relief a’u hymgyrchoedd i gefnogi teuluoedd. Bydd rhan o’r arian a godwyd eleni gan Comic Relief yn mynd at apêl yr Wcrain. Yn Ysgol Panteg, rydym yn falch ein bod wedi gallu codi £181.37 i gefnogi’r apêl gwerth chweil hon.
Graddio
Mae'n bleser gennym gyhoeddi bod Mr. Joe Masterton heddiw wedi graddio gyda gradd mewn Astudiaethau Plentyndod. Mae datblygiad personol a phroffesiynol yn rhywbeth rydym ni fel staff Ysgol Panteg yn ymfalchïo ynddo. Ein cynorthwywyr dysgu yw asgwrn cefn ein hysgol. Felly, mae’n wych dathlu eu llwyddiant.
Heddlu Bach
Ar Ddydd Mercher yr wythnos hon, cynhaliwyd ein parêd pasio allan Heddlu Bach yn yr ysgol. Braf oedd cael rhai o’n rhieni Blwyddyn 5 a 6 i mewn ar gyfer hyn! Mae cynllun Heddlu Bach yn rhaglen wirfoddoli hwyliog a rhyngweithiol a ddarperir ar y cyd gan Heddlu Gwent ac ysgolion, ar gyfer plant rhwng 9 ac 11 oed. Bydd y plant hyn yn helpu i fynd i’r afael â materion lleol, a amlygir ganddynt hwy eu hunain, yn eu cymuned eu hunain, gan weithio ochr yn ochr â Thimau Plismona Bro lleol, ar fentrau atal trosedd a chymryd perchnogaeth o’u hardal leol. Bydd y rhaglen yn anelu at greu dinasyddion moesegol wybodus o Gymru, drwy fod yn greadigol a dysgu.
Gofal Plant Hanner Tymor y Pasg
Unwaith eto, rydym wedi llwyddo i drefnu ystod o ddyddiadau gofal plant trwy ein partneriaid yn Urdd Gobaith Cymru a Menter Iaith er mwyn helpu teuluoedd i reoli eu gwaith yn ystod gwyliau ysgol ac ar gyfer y plant hynny mae gwir angen rhyngweithio cymdeithasol gyda’u cyfoedion er eu lles eu hunain. Rydym mor ddiolchgar bod yr asiantaethau allanol hyn, sy’n ein cefnogi’n wythnosol, yn fodlon cynnig gofal plant yn ystod gwyliau’r ysgol drwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg.
Mae’r cyfleusterau gofal plant hyn yn gyfyngedig o ran eu gallu – felly, y cyntaf i’r felin yw hi.

Canlyniadau Cyfweliadau
Mae’n bleser gennym gyhoeddi ein bod wedi llwyddo i benodi staff addysgu newydd i’n hysgol. Fel ysgol sy’n tyfu (oherwydd bydd gennym un dosbarth ychwanegol y flwyddyn nesaf), bydd angen mwy o staff arnom – ac roeddem am hysbysebu'n gynnar a sicrhau bod gennym y bobl orau ar gyfer y rolau. Rydym wedi gallu penodi dwy athrawes wych, un ar gyfer mis Medi ac un i gymryd lle Miss Stacey Prosser pan fydd yn gadael. Ar hyn o bryd rydym yn aros i gadarnhau eu dyddiadau cychwyn. Yr athrawon yw Miss Vienna Robinson a Mrs. Emily Morgan.
Er mwyn sicrhau tryloywder llawn, ac i fod yn agored ac yn onest gyda chi fel teuluoedd, dewisais gamu allan o'r broses recriwtio y tro hwn. Gadewais hwn yn nwylo galluog iawn Mr. Tom Rainsbury, Ms. Nerys Phillips, ein Panel Recriwtio Llywodraethwyr ac Adran Adnoddau Dynol Torfaen oherwydd bod fy chwaer fy hun wedi ymgeisio am un o'r rolau. Ar ôl proses recriwtio deg, ddiduedd a thrylwyr, bydd Mrs. Morgan, yn cymryd dosbarth Miss Prosser pan fydd yn gadael o ganlyniad i'w haeddiant ei hun.
Fel ysgol, rydym mor falch bod cymaint o ymgeiswyr wedi ceisio am ein rolau addysgu ac yn falch o gyhoeddi penodiad y ddau athro rhagorol hyn.
Rydyn ni nawr yn bwrw ymlaen â sicrhau bod gennym ni staff cyflenwi mamolaeth ar gyfer ein dosbarth Blwyddyn 2 pan fydd Mrs Wulder yn gadael am ei chyfnod mamolaeth. Byddaf yn bersonol yn rhoi'r wybodaeth ddiweddaraf ichi pan fydd gennym fwy o wybodaeth am y mater hwn.
Trip Parc Bryn Bach
Mae plant Blwyddyn 5, wrth i mi ysgrifennu, yn cael amser gwych ym Mharc Bryn Bach yn gwneud llawer o weithgareddau allanol. Mae'n wych dod yn ôl i ychydig o normalrwydd!
Rwy'n dymuno penwythnos hyfryd i chi i gyd!
Our New Website is Now Live!
We are so excited to bring you our new website! www.ysgolpanteg.cymru
We've been working really hard to ensure that we have a new website that reflects who we are at Ysgol Panteg. There is lots on the website that will be of help to you!
So, what can you find on our new website?

-Information about how to contact us.
I want to personally thank Mr. Dafydd Evans and Mr. Joe Masterton for their hard work. When we looked at new quotes from different companies for a new website, we have offers in excess of £4,000. These two loyal members of staff stepped up to the mark and offered to do something in their own time. As a result, we have a website, better than I could have ever hoped for that cost £129 - meaning that we can spend money on children not admin. Don't we have talented staff?
Governing Body Election Results
We are pleased to announce that you, as parents and carers, have elected Mr. Martyn Redwood to the post of 'Parent Governor'. The Governing Body and I as excited to start working with Mr. Redwood as he joins our ranks. We also wish to thank the other candidates who so freely put their hat in the ring to be elected and were willing to stand as a representative of parents on the Governing Body. Therefore, I personally thank Amy Davies, Gavin Davies, Michelle Easen, Catherine Mogg and Alexandra West. It was fantastic to know that we had so many suitable candidates and so many people wishing to step up to support our school.
Red Nose Day / Comic Relief
It has been great to see so many whacky hairstyles today! Today, we have been raising money for Comic Relief and their campaigns to support families. Part of the money raised this year by Comic Relief will be going to the Ukraine appeal. At Ysgol Panteg, we are pleased that we have been able to raise £181.37 to support this worthwhile appeal.
Graduation
We are pleased to announce that Mr. Joe Masterton today has graduated with a degree in Childhood Studies. Personal and professional development is something that we as Ysgol Panteg staff take pride in. Our teaching assistants are the backbone of our school - they really are. So, it is great to celebrate their success.
Heddlu Bach
On Wednesday of this week, our Heddlu Bach passing out parade was held at school. It was lovely to have some of our Year 5 and 6 parents in for this! The Heddlu Bach scheme is a fun and interactive volunteering programme delivered jointly by Gwent Police and schools, for children aged between 9 to 11 years old. These children will help tackle local issues, highlighted by themselves, in their own community, working alongside local Neighbourhood Policing Teams, on crime prevention initiatives and taking ownership of their local area. The programme will aim to create ethically informed citizens of Wales, through creativeness and learning.
Easter Half Term Childcare
Once again, we have managed to arrange a range of childcare dates through our partners at Urdd Gobaith Cymru and Menter Iaith in order to help families manage their work during school holidays and for those children really need social interaction with their peers for their own wellbeing. We are so grateful that these outside agencies, who support us on a weekly basis, are willing to offer childcare during the school holidays through the medium of Welsh.
These childcare facilities are limited in their capacity - so, its a first come, first served situation.
This Easter, the offer will be as follows:
Menter Iaith Fun Mornings, 10:00am-12:00pm. Cost £3.
Tuesday 12th, Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th of April
From age 5.
Urdd Easter Fun Days, 9:00am-3:00pm. Cost £19 a day.
Monday 11th, Wednesday 20th, Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd of April
From age 6.
New Athletics Club
The Urdd are going to be running a new athletics club on our site starting next Tuesday (22/03/2022) at 5:15pm-6.00pm. This will be for children aged 4-9. The price for 7 weeks will be £24.50. Sign up with this link:
Interview Results
We are pleased to announce that we have been successful in appointing new teaching members of staff for our school. As a growing school (because next year we will have one additional class), we will require more staff - and we wanted to get in early and ensure that we had the best people for the roles. We have been able to appoint two fantastic teachers, one for September and one to replace Miss Stacey Prosser when she leaves. We are currently, waiting on confirming their start dates. The teachers are Miss Vienna Robinson and Mrs. Emily Morgan.
For full transparency, and to be open and honest with you as families, I chose to step out of the recruitment process this time around. I left this in the very capable hands of Mr. Tom Rainsbury, Ms. Nerys Phillips, our Governor Recruitment Panel and Torfaen's Human Resources Department due to the fact that my own sister applied for one of the roles. After a fair, unbiased and rigorous recruitment process, Mrs. Morgan, will be taking Miss Prosser's class upon her leaving as a result of her own merit.
As a school, we are so pleased that so many candidates tried for our teaching roles and are proud to announce the appointment of these two outstanding teachers.
Bryn Bach Park Trip
The children of Year 5, as I write, are having a fantastic time at Bryn Bach Park doing lots of outward bounds activities. It is great to be getting back to a bit of normality!
I wish you all a lovely weekend!
