Annwyl Deuluoedd,

PAWB

Dathliadau Diwrnod y Llyfr

Heddiw, rydyn ni’n dathlu llawenydd darllen ar Ddiwrnod y Llyfr. Mae rhai o'n plant wedi mwynhau dod mewn gwisgoedd, rhai wedi dod mewn pyjamas a rhai mewn dillad cyfforddus. I ni yn Ysgol Panteg, mae’n ymwneud â’r llyfrau a chariad y plant at ddarllen - dyna beth rydym am ei hyrwyddo!

Mae meithrin cariad at ddarllen mewn plant yn hollbwysig ar gyfer eu datblygiad deallusol, emosiynol a chymdeithasol. Y tu hwnt i ennill sgiliau llythrennedd yn unig, mae meithrin llawenydd gwirioneddol ar gyfer darllen yn agor drysau i gyfleoedd a buddion diddiwedd gydol eu hoes. Dywedodd fy mam bob amser: “Gallwch chi fynd i unrhyw le ac ar unrhyw antur trwy agor llyfr”.

Mae cariad at ddarllen yn tanio dychymyg a chreadigedd plant. Trwy lyfrau, gallant archwilio bydoedd rhyfeddol, cwrdd â chymeriadau diddorol, a chychwyn ar anturiaethau cyffrous. Mae’r ymgysylltu dychmygus hwn nid yn unig yn cyfoethogi eu chwarae ond hefyd yn meithrin sgiliau meddwl beirniadol wrth iddynt ddadansoddi plotiau, cymeriadau a themâu.

Mae darllen yn gwella caffaeliad iaith a galluoedd cyfathrebu plant. Mae dod i gysylltiad â geirfa amrywiol, strwythurau brawddegau, ac arddulliau ysgrifennu yn ehangu eu repertoire ieithyddol, gan alluogi mynegiant a dealltwriaeth gliriach. Mae'r hyfedredd hwn mewn cyfathrebu yn hwyluso llwyddiant ar draws pynciau academaidd a pherthnasoedd rhyngbersonol.

Mae darllen yn borth i wybodaeth a dysg. Trwy ymgysylltu gyda llyfrau ar bynciau amrywiol, mae plant yn bodloni eu chwilfrydedd cynhenid ac yn caffael gwybodaeth werthfawr am y byd o'u cwmpas. Boed yn ymchwilio i hanes, gwyddoniaeth, neu lenyddiaeth, mae pob llyfr yn ehangu eu dealltwriaeth a’u persbectif, gan feithrin syched gydol oes am ddysgu.

Un o'r pethau pwysicaf yw bod darllen yn meithrin empathi a deallusrwydd emosiynol mewn plant. Wrth iddynt ymgolli mewn storïau sy'n darlunio gwahanol ddiwylliannau, profiadau ac emosiynau, datblygant empathi trwy uniaethu â brwydrau a buddugoliaethau cymeriadau. Mae'r cyseiniant emosiynol hwn yn meithrin tosturi a dealltwriaeth, nodweddion hanfodol ar gyfer llywio cyd-destunau cymdeithasol amrywiol.

EVERYONE

World Book Day Celebrations

Today, we’re celebrating the joy of reading on World Book Day. Some of our children have enjoyed coming in costumes, some have come in pyjamas and some in comfy clothes. For us at Ysgol Panteg, it is about the books and the children’s love of reading - that is what we want to promote!

Instilling a love for reading in children is paramount for their intellectual, emotional, and social development. Beyond merely acquiring literacy skills, fostering a genuine joy for reading opens doors to endless opportunities and benefits throughout their lives. My mam always said: “You can go anywhere and on any adventure by opening a book”.

A love for reading ignites children's imagination and creativity. Through books, they can explore fantastical worlds, meet intriguing characters, and embark on exciting adventures. This imaginative engagement not only enriches their play but also cultivates critical thinking skills as they analyze plots, characters, and themes.

Reading enhances children's language acquisition and communication abilities. Exposure to diverse vocabulary, sentence structures, and writing styles expands their linguistic repertoire, enabling clearer expression and comprehension. This proficiency in communication facilitates success across academic subjects and interpersonal relationships.

Reading serves as a gateway to knowledge and learning. By devouring books on various topics, children satisfy their innate curiosity and acquire valuable information about the world around them. Whether delving into history, science, or literature, each book broadens their understanding and perspective, nurturing a lifelong thirst for learning.

One of the most important things is that reading cultivates empathy and emotional intelligence in children. As they immerse themselves in stories depicting different cultures, experiences, and emotions, they develop empathy by identifying with characters' struggles and triumphs. This emotional resonance fosters compassion and understanding, crucial traits for navigating diverse social contexts.

Mrs. Morgan

As families in Year 4 already know, Mrs. Morgan will be leaving us to take up a role within Torfaen and work with SENCOM team. This is an incredibly important role teaching children with visual and hearing needs. We are so proud that this team will now have a Welsh teacher. Mrs. Morgan will be leaving at the end of April. We are pleased to announce also that Miss Katie Powell is beginning with us straight after Easter to allow for a seamless transition.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, I am available to discuss over the phone, via email or at drop off and pick up. I have cleared time in my diary both yesterday and also on Monday from 3:30-5:00 should anyone wish to come and discuss with me.
