Annwyl Deuluoedd,

PAWB

Perygl Dieithraid

Yr wythnos hon mae ein ffocws ar 'berygl dieithraid'.

Y canllaw hwn i’ch helpu i wneud eich plentyn yn ymwybodol o ddieithriaid, a sut i aros yn ddiogel tra allan yn y gymuned. Mae'n anodd dod o hyd i'r cydbwysedd rhwng bod eich plentyn yn ddiogel ac yn annibynnol - ond gobeithio y dylai'r canllaw syml hwn eich helpu chi fel aelodau'r teulu i gefnogi'ch plentyn gyda'r wybodaeth a'r wybodaeth angenrheidiol.

Ymwybyddiaeth Dieithr

Mae'r mwyafrif o ddieithriaid yn bobl normal sy'n braf, ond efallai na fydd ychydig. Mae plant yn gweld dieithriaid bob dydd mewn strydoedd, mewn siopau, yn y parc, ac yn eu cymunedau. Gall rhieni a gofalwyr amddiffyn eu plant rhag dieithriaid amheus trwy eu dysgu am ddieithriaid a'u hymddygiad.

Dieithryn yw unrhyw un nad yw'ch plentyn yn ei adnabod yn dda. Mae plant yn aml yn meddwl bod “dieithriaid drwg” yn edrych yn ddychrynllyd, fel y baddies ar y teledu. Nid yw hyn yn wir! Gall dieithriaid sy'n edrych yn neis fod yr un mor ddrwg. Siaradwch â'ch plentyn am ddieithriaid, esboniwch na all unrhyw un ddweud a yw dieithryn yn braf o sut maen nhw'n edrych. Dywedwch wrth eich plentyn y dylent fod yn ofalus o amgylch pob dieithryn. Fe ddylech chi dawelu eu meddwl bod y mwyafrif o ddieithriaid yn dda. Os oes angen help ar blant, os cânt eu colli, cael eu bygwth gan fwli neu gael eu dilyn gan ddieithryn yna'r peth mwyaf diogel i'ch plentyn ei wneud mewn llawer o achosion yw gofyn i ddieithryn diogel am help. Gallwch chi wneud hyn yn haws iddyn nhw trwy ddangos iddyn nhw pa ddieithriaid sy'n “ddieithriaid diogel” a gellir ymddiried ynddynt.

Dieithriaid Diogel

Mae dieithriaid diogel yn bobl y gall plant ofyn am help pan fydd ei angen arnynt. Mae swyddogion heddlu, pobl tân, nyrsys, athrawon, cynorthwywyr siopau mewn archfarchnadoedd mawr a gwarchodwyr diogelwch, yn oedolion y gall eich plentyn ymddiried ynddynt, a gallant fod yn hawdd eu hadnabod pan fyddant yn y gwaith. Os yw'ch plentyn mewn man lle nad yw'n gallu dod o hyd i ddieithryn defnyddiol mewn gwisg yna dylai eich plentyn fynd i le cyhoeddus i ofyn am help.

Gallwch chi helpu'ch plentyn i adnabod dieithriaid diogel trwy dynnu sylw atynt pan fyddwch chi allan yn eich cymuned. Dangoswch leoedd i'ch plentyn y gallant fynd os oes angen help arnynt, fel siopau lleol, bwytai a chartrefi ffrindiau teulu yn eich cymdogaeth.

Sut i Adnabod Sefyllfaoedd Peryglus a Beth i'w Wneud

Efallai mai'r ffordd bwysicaf y gall rhieni a gofalwyr amddiffyn plant yw eu dysgu i fod yn wyliadwrus o sefyllfaoedd peryglus. Helpwch eich plentyn i gydnabod yr arwyddion o ymddygiad amheus. Gall hyn fod mewn sawl ffordd. Os yw oedolyn yn gofyn iddynt gadw cyfrinach, yn gofyn iddynt wneud rhywbeth heb ganiatâd eu rhiant na gofalwr neu'n gwneud iddynt deimlo'n anghyfforddus mewn unrhyw ffordd. Dysgwch eich plentyn na ddylai oedolyn fyth ofyn i blentyn ifanc am help, a'u dysgu i ddod o hyd i oedolyn dibynadwy ar unwaith a dweud wrthyn nhw beth sydd wedi digwydd.

Siaradwch â'ch plentyn am sefyllfaoedd peryglus a'r hyn y dylent ei wneud. Os ydyn nhw'n teimlo'n ofnus, dan fygythiad neu os ydyn nhw mewn sefyllfa beryglus neu sefyllfa lle maen nhw'n teimlo'n anghyfforddus, dysgwch nhw i weiddi ... “Help, na, dieithryn” mor uchel ag y gallant a rhedeg i ffwrdd, a dywedwch wrth oedolyn dibynadwy beth digwyddodd ar unwaith.

Rhiant Lywodraethwyr

Fel corff llywodraethu, mae angen i ni drefnu etholiad ar gyfer rhiant lywodraethwyr. Mae dwy le gyda ni ar ein corff lywodraethwyr yn dechrau yn fuan.

Mae Rôl y Llywodraethwyr yn gynyddol bwysig. Rhaid iddynt sicrhau bod gofynion y cwricwlwm cenedlaethol yn cael eu bodloni, sefydlu safonau ymddygiad, dewis staff, delio gyda materion y gyllideb a pharatoi a chyflwyno’r Adroddiad Blynyddol i Rieni. Mae’n ofynnol i Gyrff Llywodraethu gyfarfod unwaith y tymor o leiaf ac mae’r rhan fwyaf yn cyfarfod yn hanner tymhorol gyda’r nos. Penderfynir ar amledd ac amser y cyfarfodydd gan y Corff Llywodraethu.

Etholir Llywodraethwyr am dymor o bedair blynedd ond caiff rhieni barhau i wasanaethu hyd yn oed os yw eu plentyn yn gadael yr ysgol yn ystod y cyfnod hwnnw. Mae hyfforddiant ar gael yn gyson i’r holl Lywodraethwyr, heb unrhyw gost i’r unigolyn. Mae disgwyl i’r holl Lywodraethwyr, newydd a phrofiadol, fanteisio ar unrhyw gyrsiau sy’n cael eu trefnu ac mae’n hanfodol cael yr wybodaeth ddiweddaraf am syniadau a deddfwriaeth.

Mae ffurflen enwebu wedi’i chynnwys er mwyn i chi gyflwyno eich enw ar gyfer yr etholiad.

Gwahoddir pawb sy’n cael eu henwebu i wneud datganiad byr i gefnogi eu henwebiad a gaiff ei ddosbarthu i Rieni os bydd etholiad. Gwnewch yn siŵr bod unrhyw ddatganiad yn cael ei ysgrifennu’n glir i osgoi problemau wrth ei atgynhyrchu.

Rhaid i bawb sy’n cael eu henwebu fod yn Rhiant, neu’n Warcheidwad Cyfreithiol, i Ddisgybl yn yr Ysgol. Ni chaniateir i Dadcu neu Famgu Disgybl gymryd rhan yn yr etholiad oni bai eu bod yn Warcheidwaid Cyfreithiol y Plentyn. Ni chaiff unrhyw berson wasanaethu ar fwy na dau Gorff Llywodraethu mewn unrhyw gategori.

Dylid dychwelyd y ffurflen enwebu i’r ysgol erbyn Dydd Mawrth, 10fed o Hydref. Os oes mwy o enwebiadau nag o lefydd gwag, bydd pleidlais gudd yn cael ei chynnal. Anfonir manylion am yr etholiad atoch chi os bydd hynny’n briodol.

Stranger Danger

This week our focus is on 'Stranger Danger'.

This guide is to help you make your child aware of strangers, and how to remain safe whilst out in the community. Finding the balance between your child being safe and independent is difficult - but I hope that this simple guide should help you as family members support your child with the necessary information and know-how.

Stranger Awareness

Most strangers are normal people who are nice, but a few may not be. Children see strangers every day in streets, in shops, at the park, and in their communities. Parents and carers can protect their children from suspicious strangers by teaching them about strangers and their behaviour.

A stranger is anyone that your child doesn’t know well. Children often think that “bad strangers” look scary, like the baddies on the television. This isn’t true! Nice looking strangers can be just as bad. Talk to your child about strangers, explain that no one can tell if a stranger is nice from how they look. Tell your child that they should be careful around all strangers. You should reassure them that most strangers are good. If children need help, if they are lost, being threatened by a bully or being followed by a stranger then the safest thing for your child to do in many cases is to ask a safe stranger for help. You can make this easier for them by showing them which strangers are “safe strangers” and can be trusted.

Safe Strangers

Safe strangers are people children can ask for help when they need it. Police officers, Fire-fighters, Nurses, Teachers, Shop Assistants in large supermarkets and Security Guards, are adults your child can trust, and can be easy to recognise when they’re at work. If your child is in a place where they are unable to locate a helpful stranger in a uniform then your child should go to a public place to ask for help.

You can help your child recognise safe strangers by pointing them out when you’re out in your community. Show your child places they can go if they need help, such as local shops, restaurants and the homes of family friends in your neighbourhood.

How to Recognise Dangerous Situations and What to Do

Perhaps the most important way parents and carers can protect children is to teach them to be wary of dangerous situations. Help your child recognise the warning signs of suspicious behaviour. This can be in a number of ways. If an adult asks them to keep a secret, asks them to do something without their parent or carer’s permission or makes them feel uncomfortable in any way. Teach your child that an adult should never ask a young child for help, and teach them to find a trusted adult right away and tell them what has happened.

Talk to your child about dangerous situations and what they should do. If they feel scared, threatened or they are in a dangerous situation or a situation where they feel uncomfortable, teach them to shout... “Help, No, Stranger” as loud as they can and run away, and tell a trusted adult what happened right away.

Parent Governor Vacancies

As a governing body, we need to arrange an election for parent governors. We have two spaces on our governing body to start shortly.

The Role of Governors has become increasingly important. They must ensure that the requirements of the national curriculum are met, establish standards of behaviour, select staff, deal with budget matters and prepare and present the Annual Report to Parents. Governing Bodies are required to meet at least once a term and most meet half termly in the evening. The frequency and time of meetings is decided by the Governing Body.

Governors are elected for a four-year term of office, but Parents may continue to serve even if their child leaves the school during that time. Training is continually available for all Governors, at no cost to the individual. All Governors, new and experienced, are expected to take advantage of any courses arranged as it is vital to keep up to date with new ideas and legislation.

A nomination form is enclosed to enable you to put your name forward for election.

Each nominee is invited to make a brief statement in support of their nomination which will be circulated to Parents in the event of an election. Please ensure any statement is clearly written to avoid problems when being reproduced.

All nominees must be a Parent, or Legal Guardian, of a Pupil registered at the School. Grandparents of Pupils are not allowed to take part in the election unless they are the Legal Guardians of the Child. No person may serve on more than two Governing Bodies in any category.

The nomination form should be returned to the school by Tuesday 10th of October. If nominations exceed the number of vacancies a secret ballot will be held. Details of the election will be sent to you if appropriate.

YEAR 4

Cardiff Bay Overnight Trip

It’s coming to an exciting time for our Year 4 children! Every year, we offer our Year 4 children an overnight trip to the Urdd centre in Cardiff Bay. They do so many activities over the course of the two days! Such as a boat trip, bowling, treasure hunts, and a trip to the Senedd.

The children will leave school first thing on Wednesday 8th of November stay overnight and arrive back on Thursday, 9th of October.

The cost of the trip will be £92.00 (with a 10% reduction for those in receipt of the Pupil Development Grant). This is now live on Civica Pay. This cost includes all activities, food and transport.

We kindly ask for a deposit of £30 by Thursday, 12th of October. After this date, we will not be able to add anyone additional on to the trip since we have to give definite numbers to the centre. The remaining balance will be due by Monday, 6th of November.

The children always love this trip - since it is such a fun packed stay! However, we know that for many this will be their first time away. So, we always offer a question and answer session to ease any anxiety and help families know what to expect. This will be held at 4:30pm on Tuesday, 24th of October in the school hall.
