Wythnos nesaf, rydym yn edrych ymlaen at ein mabolgampau! Mae rhagolygon y tywydd yn edrych yn iawn am y rhan fwyaf o'r dyddiau. Rydyn ni'n cadw llygad ar y siawns o law - sydd ar hyn o bryd tua 35% o siawns - ond rydyn ni'n gwybod gyda thywydd Prydain, gall unrhyw beth ddigwydd mewn wythnos! Rwyf, fodd bynnag, mor falch na fydd yn crasboeth! Pe baem yn cael tywydd chwilboeth, byddwn yn edrych i aildrefnu er mwyn amddiffyn ein plant rhag yr haul.
Byddwn yn cadarnhau yn y bore erbyn 9.15 ar yr hwyraf bob dydd os yw’r mabolgampau yn parhau y diwrnod hwnnw. Byddwn yn asesu gwres, glaw a hefyd pa mor llithrig yw'r glaswellt (i osgoi anaf diangen).
Gan ein bod yn rhedeg y mabolgampau fel cylchdaith, byddwn yn gofyn i chi ddilyn dosbarth eich plentyn o amgylch y gylchdaith er mwyn eu gweld yn cymryd rhan. Mae'r gylched hon i sicrhau ein bod yn gwneud y mwyaf o amser ac nad yw plant yn eistedd yn gwneud dim am gyfnodau hir o amser.
Ni allaf aros i gael teuluoedd i'r digwyddiadau hyn! Fy unig ymbil i deuluoedd yw hyn: cofiwch fod hwn yn ddiwrnod mabolgampau llawn hwyl i blant. Bydd rasys timau a rasys unigol. Bydd rhywun yn ennill pob ras. Yr wyf yn siŵr y byddwch yn cytuno, ein bod am gael amser da i bawb ac i bawb gymryd rhan. Y rhan bwysicaf yw bod pawb yn cymryd rhan ac yn cael eu cymeradwyo! Felly, a fyddech cystal â bloeddio'r rhai na all eu rhieni fod yno.
Dylai plant wisgo gwisg ymarfer corff. Mae’r staff wedi rhoi wybod i chi dros ClassDojo o liwiau eu llysoedd.
Y giât ochr (ger y plaza blaen) fydd lle gallwch chi fynd i mewn i'r safle. Bydd yn cael ei agor 15 munud cyn yr amser cychwyn. Bydd y giât yn cael ei chloi yn ystod gweithgareddau’r mabolgampau er mwyn sicrhau diogelwch y plant.
Yn ystod y mabolgampau, anogwch eich plentyn i wrando ar yr athro/athrawes oherwydd bydd yn rhoi cyfarwyddiadau. Nid ydym am i blant grwydro gydag oedolion. Maen nhw i aros gyda'u dosbarth bob amser. Bydd gennym redwyr toiledau i sicrhau bod plant yn gallu mynd i’r toiled pan fydd angen – byddwn yn cymryd cyfrifoldeb am hyn.
Ar ddiwedd pob diwrnod mabolgampau, gallwch chi gymryd eich plentyn yn gynnar. Byddwn yn sicrhau bod pob plentyn yn dychwelyd i’w dosbarthiadau er mwyn codi eu heitemau personol cyn gadael. Gwnawn hyn hefyd i sicrhau ein bod yn gwybod yn union pwy sy’n mynd adref gyda phwy a’n bod wedi cofnodi hyn.
Os na fyddwn yn gorffen yr holl weithgareddau a osodwyd fel rhan o'r mabolgampau o fewn yr amser penodedig. Byddwn yn sicrhau bod plant yn cael cyfle i gwblhau’r gweithgaredd/gweithgareddau dros y cwrs am yr wythnos. Fy arwyddair yw ei bod yn well gorgynllunio yn hytrach na brwydro am bethau i'w gwneud!
Bydd y seremoni dystysgrifau yn cael ei chynnal y tu allan i’n cyfleuster ysgolion coedwig newydd o’r enw ‘Caban y Coed’.
Rwyf mor ddiolchgar i Mr. Alexander sydd wedi trefnu'r mabolgampau i sicrhau bod llawer i'w wneud a llawer o hwyl i'w gael.

Dewin yr Os - 17eg o Orffennaf
Tocynnau
Trwy ddilyn y ddolen hon, rydych chi nawr yn gallu archebu tocynnau ar gyfer cynhyrchiad Cam Cynnydd 3 o ‘Dewin yr Os’. Mae'r rhain yn docynnau am ddim ond maent yn gyfyngedig. Rydym i ddechrau yn dyrannu 2 docyn i bob cartref. Pan fyddwch chi'n cwblhau'r ffurflen archebu, dewiswch naill ai'r cynhyrchiad 10:30 am neu'r cynhyrchiad 4:30 pm. Aros Tu Ôl Ysgol
Fel yr eglurwyd yn flaenorol, rydym yn disgwyl i holl Gam Cynnydd 3 (Blwyddyn 4, 5 a 6) aros ar ei hôl hi ar 17ef o Orffennaf a chael eu codi ar ôl y sioe am 5:45pm. Gofynnwn yn garedig i chi anfon byrbryd neu frechdanau i'r plentyn eu cael am 3:30pm.

Ysgol Ddi-Gnau a Byrbrydau
Gofynnwn yn garedig i chi wirio'r eitemau sy'n cael eu hanfon gyda'r plant ar gyfer amser byrbryd yn arbennig. Rydym yn ysgol ddi-gnau ac mae gennym nifer o blant ag alergeddau sy'n gallu bygwth bywyd. Dros yr ychydig wythnosau diwethaf, rydym wedi sylwi ar gynnydd sylweddol yn nifer y cynhyrchion sy'n seiliedig ar gnau sy'n cael eu hanfon i mewn ar gyfer amser byrbryd. Gofynnwn yn garedig i amser byrbryd gael byrbryd iach (fel ffrwythau ffres neu iogwrt).
Cofiwch hefyd anfon poteli dŵr gyda'ch plant - mae'n hynod o boeth ac mae angen iddynt yfed. Mae yfed sgwas trwy gydol y dydd yn ddrwg iawn i ddannedd plant. Mae tîm Deintyddol y GIG sy’n ymweld â ni wedi dweud wrthym fod gan Dorfaen, ar hyn o bryd, y cyflwr gwaethaf o bydredd dannedd yng Nghymru. Nid yw hyn yn rhywbeth yr ydym am i'n plant orfod ei ddioddef.

Noson Agored Ysgol Gymraeg Gwynllyw - Atgof Olaf
Ar nos Iau, 29ain o Fehefin, bydd Ysgol Gymraeg Gwynllyw yn cynnal noson agored i deuluoedd edrych o gwmpas. Yn ystod y noson, bydd dwy sesiwn, y cyntaf yn dechrau am 16:00 a'r ail am 17:15.
Bydd y ddwy sesiwn yn dechrau gyda chyflwyniad gan yr Uwch Dîm Arwain yn y neuadd yn adeilad Gwladys. Yn ystod y cyflwyniad byddwch yn derbyn rhagor o wybodaeth am sut mae’r ysgol yn rhedeg o ddydd i ddydd, yna cewch gyfle i gael eich tywys ar daith o amgylch yr ysgol a chwrdd â’r staff ag aelodau o’r Chweched Dosbarth.
I deuluoedd Blwyddyn 5, dyma gyfle gwych i edrych o gwmpas efallai am y tro cyntaf.

Noson Ffilm - Atgof
Fel y cyhoeddwyd yn flaenorol, ar ddydd Llun, 10fed o Orffennaf o 3:30pm tan 6:00pm, byddwn yn cynnal noson ffilm am ddim. Gall y plant ddod â byrbrydau i mewn a mwynhau'r ffilm gyda'i gilydd.
Gan fod hyn ar ôl ysgol ac yn PG, bydd angen eich caniatâd chi i'r plant aros. Felly, cofrestrwch eich plentyn gan ddefnyddio'r ddolen ganlynol:

Byddwch eisoes yn gwybod bod plant o’r Dosbarth Derbyn i Flwyddyn 2 yn cael prydau ysgol am ddim. Wel, o fis Medi bydd pawb mewn ysgolion cynradd yn derbyn cinio ysgol am ddim. Fodd bynnag, mae Torfaen angen i chi lenwi ffurflen:

EVERYONE
Sports Day
Next week, we are looking forward to our sports days! The weather forecast is looking okay for most of the days. We are keeping an eye on the chance of rain - which currently stands at around 35% chance - but we know with British weather, anything can happen in a week! I am, however, so pleased that it won’t be scorching! If we have extreme hot weather, I will be looking to reschedule in order to protect our children from the blazing sun.
We will confirm on the morning by 9.15, at the latest each day, if the sports day is continuing that day. We will be assessing heat, rain and also how slippery the grass is (to avoid unnecessary injury).
As we are running the sports day as a circuit, we will be asking you to follow your child’s class around the circuit in order to see them take part. This circuit is to ensure that we maximise time and that children are not sitting doing nothing for long periods.
I can’t wait to have you, as families, attending these events! My only plea to families is this: please remember that this is a fun sports day for children. There will be teams races and individual races. Someone will win each race. I am sure you will agree, that we want a good time for all and for everyone to take part. The most important part is that everyone is involved and is cheered on! So, please do cheer on those whose parents can’t be there.
Children should wear sensible P.E. wear. The teachers have sent you a ClassDojo message letting you
Know their house colour.
The side gate (near the front plaza) will be where you can enter the site. It will be opened 15 minutes before the start time. The gate will be locked during the sports day activities to ensure the safety of the children.
During the sports day, please do encourage your child to listen to the teacher because they will be giving instructions. We do not want children wandering off with adults. They are to stay with their class at all times. We will have toilet runners to ensure that children can go to the toilet when they need to - we will take responsibility for this.
At the end of each sports day, you are able to take your child early. We will ensure that all children return to their classrooms in order to pick up their personal items before leaving. We do this also to ensure that we know exactly who is going home with who and that we have recorded this.
In the event that we do not finish all the activities laid out as part of the sports day in the allocated time. We will ensure that children get a chance to complete the activity/activities over the course for the week. My motto is that it is better to be over-planned rather than struggling for things to do!
The certificates ceremony will take place outside our forest schools facility called ‘Caban y Coed’.
I am so grateful to Mr. Alexander who has arranged the sports days to ensure that there is lots to do and lots of fun to be had.
YEARS 4, 5 AND 6
The Wizard of Oz - 17th of July
Tickets
By following this link, you are now able to book tickets for Progress Step 3’s production of ‘The Wizard of Oz’. These are free tickets but are limited. We are initially allocating 2 tickets per household. When you complete the booking form, please choose either the 10:30am production or the 4:30pm production. PLEASE DO THIS BY END OF THE DAY MONDAY AT THE LATEST. If there are spare tickets, we will then release these on a first come first served basis from Tuesday.
Staying Behind School
As previously explained, we are expecting all of Progress Step 3 (Year 4, 5 and 6) to remain behind on the 17th of July and to be picked up after the show at 5:45pm. We kindly ask that you send in a snack or sandwiches for your child to have at 3:30pm.
EVERYONE
Snacks and Nut-Free School
We kindly ask that you check the items that are sent in with children, especially for snack time and lunch time. We are a nut free school and we have a number of children with life threatening allergies. Over the last couple of weeks, we have noticed a significant increase in the amount of nut-based products being sent in for snack time. We kindly ask that snack time should have a healthy snack (such as fresh fruit or yogurt).
Please also remember to send in water bottles with your children - it is extremely hot and they need to drink. Sipping squash throughout the day is extremely bad for children’s teeth. The NHS Dental team who visit us have told us that Torfaen, currently, have the worst state of tooth decay in Wales. This is not something we want our children to have to endure.
YEARS 5 AND 6
Ysgol Gymraeg Gwynllyw's Open Evening - Last Reminder
On Thursday, 29th of June, Ysgol Gymraeg Gwynllyw will be hosting an open evening for families to look around. During the evening, there will be two sessions, the first starting at 16:00 and second at 17:15.
Both sessions will start with a presentation from the Senior Leadership Team in the hall in Gwladys building. During the presentation you will receive further information about how the school runs from day to day, you will then have the opportunity to be taken on a tour of the school and meet the staff with members of the Sixth Form.
For Year 5 families, this is a great opportunity to look around maybe for the first time.
For Year 6 families, there will be an information pack with information about starting in September and there will be a school uniform stand available.

Film Night - Reminder
As previously announced, on Monday, 10th of July from 3:30pm until 6:00pm, we will be holding a free movie night. Children can bring snacks in and enjoy the film together.
Since this is after school and is a PG, we will need your permission for the children to stay. Therefore, please sign up your child using the following link:

Free School Meals for New Children - Reminder
In Wales, we a very lucky to have free school meals for all pupils in Primary schools. For families with children moving into Reception, in order to receive this free school meal provision, you must fill out the following form:

Please do this as soon as possible so that our catering team can arrange appropriately for September. Even if you think you will send in packed lunches please still fill it out because there might be that one day when you want a hot lunch for your child. Once you have filled out this form, you are signed up for their whole time at our school.
