Wythnos Cerdded i'r Ysgol: 15 - 19 Mai 2023
Mae mis Mai yn dod ag wythnos cerdded i'r ysgol gyda hi, beth am osod her i chi'ch hun i deithio'n wahanol i'r ysgol? Y gobaith yw y bydd y tywydd yn dod yn fwy disglair, felly beth am gymryd mantais a chymryd rhan trwy gerdded, beicio, gyrru ar olwynion neu sgwtio i'r ysgol ac adref?
Rydym yn deall na fydd pawb yn gallu cymryd rhan yn y fenter hon oherwydd trafnidiaeth bws.
Mae manteision cymryd rhan fel a ganlyn:
-I ymgymryd â'r her hon bydd disgyblion ar eu ffordd i gyrraedd y 60 munud y dydd o weithgarwch corfforol a argymhellir.
-Mae disgyblion sy'n cerdded/beicio/sgwtera i'r ysgol yn gwneud yn well yn y dosbarth oherwydd eu bod yn cyrraedd wedi'u hadfywio, yn ffit ac yn barod i ddysgu.
-Llai o dagfeydd wrth gatiau'r ysgol.
-Helpwch yr amgylchedd.
Er efallai na fydd yn bosibl i bob disgybl gerdded y pellter o’u cartref i’w hysgol, anogir rhieni i ‘barcio a cherdded’, parcio mewn man diogel a chyfreithlon ymhellach nag y byddent fel arfer a cherdded gweddill y ffordd.

Ceisiadau ar gyfer Grant Cymorth Datblygu Disgyblion
Os ydych ar incwm isel ac yn derbyn budd-daliadau (gweler y rhestr isod) rydych hefyd yn gymwys i gael grant.
Mae'r grant hwn yn berthnasol i bob un o'ch plant o'r Dosbarth Derbyn i Flwyddyn 6 a gallai fod hyd at £225 y plentyn! Os ydych yn gymwys, gellir talu'r grant hwn yn syth i'ch cyfrif banc. Y cyfan sy'n rhaid i chi ei wneud yw llenwi'r ffurflen atodedig a'i dychwelyd cyn gynted â phosibl i swyddfa'r ysgol. Y dyddiad cau ar gyfer eleni yw 30 Mehefin 2023. Heddiw, byddwn yn anfon copi papur o lythyr a ffurflen adref i bob cartref.
Os ydych yn derbyn unrhyw un o’r budd-daliadau hyn byddwch yn gymwys ar gyfer y grant hwn:
• Cymhorthdal Incwm
• Lwfans ceisio gwaith yn seiliedig ar incwm
• Credyd Treth Plant gydag incwm blynyddol o lai na £16,190 (nid oes gennych hawl os ydych hefyd yn derbyn Credyd Treth Gwaith)
• Lwfans Cyflogaeth a Chymorth yn Seiliedig ar Incwm
• Elfen gwarant credyd pensiwn y wladwriaeth
• Cymorth o dan Ran VI o Ddeddf Mewnfudo a Lloches 1999
• Credyd Cynhwysol (lle nad yw'r incwm misol net a enillir yn fwy na £616.67)
Bydd yr ysgol hefyd yn elwa o hyn oherwydd, am bob plentyn sy'n derbyn y grant hwn, byddwn yn derbyn tua £1000 yn ein cyllideb a fydd yn mynd tuag at adnoddau i'ch plant.

Ffotograffau Dosbarth
Ddoe, cawsom ein diwrnod ffotograffau dosbarth! Dydyn ni methu aros i weld y lluniau a dwi'n siwr na allwch chi chwaith! O fewn ychydig wythnosau, bydd y lluniau ar gael i'w gweld a'u prynu ar-lein. (Mae'r lluniau'n cael eu tynnu mewn grwpiau bach ac yn cael eu golygu gyda'i gilydd gan dîm golygu - felly dyna pam mae'n cymryd rhai wythnosau). Cyn gynted ag y byddant ar gael byddwn yn anfon y codau cyswllt a mewngofnodi i deuluoedd.
BLWYDDYN 6
Blwyddlyfr
Rydym yn gobeithio gwneud llyfr blwyddyn gyda’n disgyblion Blwyddyn 6 er cof am eu hamser yn Ysgol Panteg. Y syniad yw arddangos pethau anhygoel am ein holl blant a dathlu eu hamser yn Ysgol Panteg. O ganlyniad, mae yna ychydig o bethau y bydd eu hangen arnom gan deuluoedd.
(1) Gan fod llyfr blwyddyn yn rhannu gwybodaeth bersonol, megis enw, ffotograffau, atgofion, hoff a chas bethau, bydd angen caniatâd teulu er mwyn i’ch plentyn fod yn rhan o’r blwyddlyfr. Byddwch yn derbyn neges ClassDojo heddiw sy'n gofyn ichi ymateb i ddangos eich caniatâd. Heb y caniatâd hwn, ni fydd eich plentyn yn gallu ymddangos yn y llyfr blwyddyn.
(2) Un o’r syniadau yw y byddai’r llyfr blwyddyn yn dangos faint maen nhw wedi tyfu dros y blynyddoedd. Felly, rydym yn gofyn i chi anfon naill ai llun babi, llun ohonyn nhw fel plentyn bach neu ffotograff o'u diwrnod cyntaf yn yr ysgol. Gallwch anfon hwn i yearbook@ysgolpanteg.cymru.

BLWYDDYN 6
Hwdis
Nawr dylech fod wedi derbyn neges classdojo gyda'r hwdi maint y mae eich plentyn wedi'i ddewis a rhoi cynnig arni. Cost hwdi yw £20. Rydym bellach wedi lansio'r cyfleuster talu ar gyfer hwdi gadael ar Civica Pay - bydd y dull i dalu yn cau ar y 6ed o Fehefin. Dyma'r dyddiad pellaf y gallwn ei gynnig. Os oes gennych unrhyw broblemau yn talu, p'un a ydynt yn dechnegol neu fel arall, cysylltwch â ni erbyn diwedd yr wythnos nesaf.
Blwyddyn 4, 5 a 6
Dewin Oz - Clwb Drama
Gwnewch yn siŵr bod eich plentyn yn mynychu Clwb Drama os oes gan eich plentyn ran. Mae hyn yn hynod o bwysig - heb ymarfer ni fyddwn yn gallu rhoi'r sioe ymlaen. Rydym wedi cael rhai fflwcs mewn niferoedd yn wythnosol (uwch ac is). Cysylltwch â Miss Llewellyn os oes amgylchiadau eithriadol sy'n golygu na all eich plentyn fynd i ymarfer wythnos. Diodydd Prime
Efallai eich bod wedi gweld yn y newyddion dros y dyddiau diwethaf am ddiodydd Prime Energy a’r peryglon i blant. Mae disgybl mewn ysgol gynradd yng Nghasnewydd wedi dioddef pwl cardiaidd ar ôl yfed diod ynni Prime. Dywedir bod Prime Energy, a lansiwyd yn y DU yn 2023, yn cynnwys 140mg o gaffein pob can, tra bod diod meddal nodweddiadol â chaffein yn cynnwys dim ond 30 i 40mg o gaffein yn gyffredinol ac mae gan baned 8 owns o goffi rhwng 80 a 100mg. Nid yw Prime Energy yn cael ei argymell ar gyfer plant o dan 18 oed, yn ôl y wefan swyddogol - ac mae hyn wedi'i nodi ar labeli caniau Prime Energy. O ganlyniad, os bydd plentyn yn dod ag un o’r rhain i’r ysgol, byddwn yn sicrhau ei fod yn dod ag ef adref atoch a hefyd yn sicrhau bod ganddo ddigon i’w yfed yn yr ysgol.

Priodas
Rwyf wedi cael cymaint o sgyrsiau hyfryd gyda theuluoedd dros yr ychydig wythnosau diwethaf ers i mi gynnwys yn y bwletin am fy mhriodas sydd i ddod. Bydd David a minnau yn priodi yn Eglwys Gadeiriol Llandaf, Caerdydd, ar y 30ain o Fai, 2023 am 12:00yp (yn ystod Hanner Tymor y Sulgwyn). Mae gennym lawer o westeion yn mynychu'r briodas o bell ac agos - teulu a ffrindiau gan gynnwys dau esgob! Gan fy mod i’n ystyried plant ein hysgol yn rhan o fy nheulu a thrwy estyniad chi fel oedolion, hoffem wahodd teuluoedd i’r gwasanaeth hwn. Does dim pwysau i fynychu – ond mae gwahoddiad agored. Dyma ychydig o hanes gan mai dyma’r tro cyntaf erioed i Gadeirlan Llandaf gynnal bendith priodas o’r un rhyw ers ei sefydlu yn 1120 (sef 903 o flynyddoedd!)

Mae parcio yn y gadeirlan yn eithriadol o wael oherwydd ei fod wedi'i gynllunio gannoedd o flynyddoedd cyn bod teithio mewn car yn realiti! Rydym yn cynghori gwesteion i ddod am 11:15-11:30 er mwyn parcio a mynychu’n ddiogel.
Mae rhai teuluoedd wedi gofyn beth yw'r cod gwisg. Gan ei bod yn briodas eglwys gadeiriol, mae'r cod gwisg yn smart. Mae croeso i blant wisgo gwisg ysgol os dymunant.
Bydd y gwasanaeth tua awr a chwarter o hyd ac yn amlwg yn wasanaeth crefyddol parchus oherwydd ein ffydd.

EVERYONE
Walk to School Week: 15th - 19th May 2023
May brings with it walk to school week, why not set yourself a challenge to travel differently to school? The weather is hopefully set to be getting brighter, so why not take advantage and take part through walking, cycling, wheeling or scooting to and from school?
We understand that not everyone will be able to take part in this initiative due to bus transport.
Benefits of taking part are:
-Taking up this challenge pupils will be on their way to reaching their recommended 60 minutes a day of physical activity.
-Pupils who walk/cycle/scoot to school do better in class because they arrive refreshed, fit and ready to learn.
-Less congestion at the school gates.
-Help the environment.
Although it may not be possible for every pupil to walk the distance from their home to their school, parents are encouraged to 'park and stride,' parking in a safe and legal place further than they normally would and walking the rest of the way.

Eligibility for Pupil Development Support Grant
If you are on low income and receive benefits (see list below) you are also eligible for a grant.
This grant applies to each of your children from Reception to Year 6 and could be up to value of £225 per child! If you are eligible, this grant can be paid straight into your bank account. All you have to do is complete the attached form and return it asap to the school office. The deadline for this year is 30th June 2023. Today, we will be sending home a paper copy of a letter and form to every household.
If you are in receipt of any of these benefits you will be eligible for this grant:
• Income Support
• Income based job seekers allowance
• Child Tax Credit with an annual income less than £16,190 (you are not entitled if you also receive Working Tax Credit)
• Income-related Employment Support allowance
• The guarantee element of state pension credit
• Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
• Universal Credit (where the monthly net earned income is not more than £616.67)
The school will also benefit from this as, for every child that receives this grant, we will receive approximately £1000 in our budget which will go towards resources for your children.

Class Photographs
Yesterday, we had our class photographs day! We can’t wait to see the photographs and I’m sure you can’t either! Within a few weeks, the photographs will be available to view and purchase online. (The photographs are taking in small groups and are edited together by an editing team - so that is why it takes a few weeks). As soon as they become available we will send families the link and log-in codes.
YEAR 6
Year Book
We are hoping to make a year book with our Year 6 pupils as a keepsake and memory of their time at Ysgol Panteg. The idea is to showcase amazing things about all of our children and celebrate their time at Ysgol Panteg. As a result, there are a few things we will need from families.
(1) As a year book shares personal information, such as name, photographs, memories, likes and dislikes, we will require family consent for your child to be a part of the yearbook. You will receive a ClassDojo message today which asks you to respond to show your consent. Without this consent, your child will not be able to feature in the year book.
(2) One of the ideas is that the year book would show how much they have grown over the years. So, we are asking you to send either a baby photo, a photo of them as a toddler or a photograph of their first day at school. You can send this to yearbook@ysgolpanteg.cymru.

YEAR 6
Hoodies
You should now have received a ClassDojo message with the size hoodie that your child has chosen and tried on. The cost of a hoodie is £20. We have now launched the payment facility for a leavers hoodie on Civica Pay – the method to pay will close on the 6th of June. This is the latest date we can offer. If you have any issues paying, whether technical or otherwise, please contact us by the end of next week.
Year 4, 5 and 6
Wizard of Oz – Drama Club
Please make sure that your child attends Drama Club if you child has a part. This is incredibly important – without practise we will not be able to put the show on. We have had some flux in numbers on a weekly basis (higher and lower). Please contact Miss Llewellyn if there are exceptional circumstances that mean your child cannot attend one week’s practice. (Bethany.Llewellyn@ysgolpanteg.cymru). We really need consistency with members so please make every effort to attend.

Prime Drinks
You might have seen in the news over the last few days about Prime Energy drinks and the dangers to children. A pupil at a Newport primary school has suffered a cardiac episode after drinking a Prime energy drink. Prime Energy, launched in the UK in 2023, is said to contain 140mg of caffeine per can, while a typical caffeinated soft drink generally contains just 30 to 40mg of caffeine and an 8oz cup of coffee has between 80 and 100mg. Prime Energy is not recommended for children under 18, according to the official website - and this is stated on the labels of cans of Prime Energy. As a result, if a child brings one of these to school, we will ensure they bring it home to you and also ensure that they have enough to drink at school.

Wedding
I have had so many lovely conversations with families over the last few weeks since I included in the bulletin about my upcoming wedding. David and I will be getting married at Llandaff Cathedral, Cardiff, on the 30th of May, 2023 at 12:00pm (during Whitsun Half Term). We have many guests attending the wedding from near and far – family and friends including two bishops! As I consider the children of our school part of my family and by extension you as adults, we would like to invite families to this service. There is no pressure to attend – but there is an open invitation. This is a little bit of history since this will be the first time Llandaff Cathedral has ever held a same-sex wedding blessing since its founding in 1120 (that 903 years!)

Parking at the cathedral is exceptionally poor due to it being designed hundreds of years before car travel was a thing! We are advising guests to come arrive for 11:15-11:30 in order to safely park and attend.
Some families have asked what the dress code is. As it is a cathedral wedding, the dress code is smart. Children are welcome to wear their school uniform if they wish.
The service will be roughly one hour and a quarter in length and obviously will be a reverent religious service due to our faith.
There will be a series of hymns as part of the service, we understand that not everyone will know hymns - so, we have prepared some tracks for those unfamiliar to listen to beforehand if they wish. You can find them at www.bit.ly/dmweddinghymns.
