Diwrnod Symud i Fyny
Mae ein plant yn cael amser gwych yn cyfarfod â'u hathrawon newydd, dod i adnabod ei gilydd a dechrau'r broses o drosglwyddo o un dosbarth i'r llall. Yn y flwyddyn dwi wedi bod ym Mhanteg (ie, mae hi’n flwyddyn gyfan!), mae’n anhygoel gweld faint mae’r plant wedi tyfu! Mae'n ymddangos bod rhai yn cael sbyrtiau twf bron yn wythnosol!
Mae ein Blwyddyn 6 wedi bod allan yng Ngwynllyw yn cael gwersi ac yn mwynhau dysgu eu ffordd o gwmpas y safle.
Ein diwrnodau symud i fyny nesaf fydd dydd Gwener, 1af Gorffennaf a dydd Iau, 14eg o Orffennaf. Rydym mor hapus i allu cynnig y dyddiau hyn i'n dechreuwyr newydd hefyd.
Hwdis Blwyddyn 6
Mae ein grŵp Blwyddyn 6 bellach wedi rhoi cynnig ar feintiau ar gyfer eu hwdis ymadawyr. Byddwch wedi derbyn neges ClassDojo i gadarnhau eich bod yn hapus gyda'r maint. Unwaith y bydd wedi'i gadarnhau, byddwn yn agor ar gyfer taliad ar Civica Pay. Felly, gwnewch yn siŵr eich bod wedi dweud wrth Miss Llewellyn eich bod yn hapus gyda'r maint y maent wedi'i ddewis.
Ffotograffau Dosbarth
Dyma nodyn atgoffa ar gyfer ein lluniau dosbarth sy'n digwydd ddydd Iau. Bydd Dosbarth Groes Fach (Blwyddyn 3) yn mynd ar drip i Greenmeadow y diwrnod hwnnw. Felly, bydd angen iddynt fod mewn gwisg ysgol ar gyfer y llun ac yna dod â welingtons a dillad mwdlyd i mewn iddynt newid i mewn iddynt. Byddant yn cael eu llun yn syth ar ôl cofrestru. Ceisiwyd symud y lluniau ychydig wythnosau yn ôl pan ddaeth y dosbarth i'r amlwg, ond yn anffodus nid oedd dyddiadau eraill gan y fferm na'r ffotograffydd.
Aelod Swyddfa Newydd
Rydym mor falch o groesawu Catherine Duke i'n tîm gweinyddol. Dechreuodd Miss Duke yn ei rôl ddoe yn y swyddfa gan weithio yn y boreau yn unig. Mae hi'n gofalu am ein systemau presenoldeb ac mae'n berson y byddwch chi'n dod i'w adnabod yn dda. Mae Mrs Redwood a Mrs Tudball wrth eu bodd ei chael hi i ymuno â staff ein swyddfa.
Absenoldeb a Salwch
Rydym wedi cael ambell gais am gymorth o ran pryd i gadw plant oddi ar yr ysgol dros y dyddiau diwethaf. Rydym bob amser yn falch o gefnogi ac ateb cwestiynau, ond rydym hefyd am i chi gael y wybodaeth ar flaenau eich bysedd. (Gwelir yr ebost). Mae'r polisi hwn yn syml iawn ac yn nodi salwch cyffredin a'r gofynion ar gyfer aros i ffwrdd o'r ysgol. Gobeithiwn y bydd hyn yn eich helpu!
Caredigrwydd Evie
Rydym mor falch o Evie yn ein dosbarth Blwyddyn 1 a roddodd 7 modfedd o’i gwallt i Ymddiriedolaeth y Dywysoges Fach ar gyfer plant sy’n mynd trwy salwch eithafol. Da iawn ti!
Cynllun Chwarae'r Haf
Yn dilyn e-bost ddoe, mae proses ymgeisio cynllun chwarae’r haf bellach ar agor. Mae’n sail y cyntaf i’r felin. Mae'n rhad ac am ddim! Y llynedd, bu pobl yn holi am ofodau ymhell ar ôl yr hysbyseb gychwynnol, felly, cofrestrwch heddiw cyn maen agor i'r cyhoedd.
Y ddolen ar gyfer gwneud cais yw:

Gwersylloedd Dydd Aml-Chwaraeon yr Urdd
O ganlyniad i'r cynllun chwarae yn rhedeg yn unig tan y 26ain o Awst. Rydym wedi trefnu gyda’r Urdd i gynnal gweithgareddau chwaraeon ar gyfer wythnos olaf gwyliau’r Haf. Mae hyn yn golygu y bydd gennym hefyd gyfleuster gofal plant o ddydd Mawrth, 30 Awst i ddydd Gwener, 2 Awst (sydd, fel y gwyddoch, yn ddiwrnod hyfforddi ysgol).
Gofal Teg
Rwyf wedi cael ychydig o ymholiadau dros yr wythnos ddiwethaf am wasanaeth cofleidiol Gofal Teg. Mae Gofal Teg yn fudiad ar wahân i'r ysgol, felly, i archebu lle ar gyfer mis Medi, cysylltwch â gofalteg@outlook.com a byddant yn gallu rhoi manylion a phrisiau i chi.
Mae Gofal Teg yn codi plant o'n safle ac yn eu cerdded draw i'w hadeilad. Felly, mae’n bontio llyfn iawn o’r ysgol i’r cyfleuster ar ôl ysgol.
Llywodraethwr Newydd
Rydym mor falch o gyhoeddi penodiad llywodraethwr newydd i gynrychioli Cyngor Cymuned Pont-y-pŵl. Bydd Nathan Warren yn cymryd ei le yng nghyfarfod nesaf y corff llywodraethu. Mae mor wych cael pobl ymroddedig yn y gymuned sydd eisiau cysylltu â’r ysgol a datblygu perthnasoedd.
Nodyn atgoffa ar gyfer Dathliadau 100 Mlynedd yr Urdd
Dydd Gwener nesaf, 24ain o Fehefin, byddwn yn cael cinio arbennig ac yn cael diwrnod o weithgareddau i hybu’r Gymraeg i ddathlu’r Dathliadau 100 Mlynedd. Ar y diwrnod hwn, rydym yn annog pawb i wisgo coch!
Llyfr Jiwbilî
Fel rhan o Jiwbilî’r Frenhines, mae pob ysgol yn cael y cyfle i optio i mewn i gael pob plentyn i dderbyn llyfr am ddim am hanes Jiwbilî’r Frenhines. Roeddem yn gobeithio y byddent yn cyrraedd mewn pryd ar gyfer y cinio Jiwbilî a gynhaliwyd gennym. Fodd bynnag, rydym yn dal i aros am eu cyflwyno. Cyn gynted ag y byddwn yn eu derbyn, byddwn yn eu dosbarthu. Ar hyn o bryd nid oes dyddiad dosbarthu wedi'i roi.
Llwyddiant Tiana
Rydym yn falch iawn o Tiana o Flwyddyn 4 a gymerodd ran yng nghystadleuaeth Miss Inspiration UK ac wedi ennill. Rhoddodd araith am ei hobïau (fel cic focsio) ac mae nawr yn mynd i fod yn gynrychiolydd i weithio gydag elusennau.
Haul yr Haf
Mae disgwyl i ragolygon y tywydd fod yn boeth iawn, iawn ddydd Gwener. Yn ôl y BBC, rydyn ni'n edrych ar don wres bach dros y penwythnos gyda'r tymheredd yn cyrraedd tua 30 celsius.
Felly, ddydd Gwener, a fyddech cystal â sicrhau bod plant yn gwisgo amddiffyniad rhag yr haul. Os dymunwch, gallant hefyd gael rhai yn eu bag i ailymgeisio yn ystod y dydd. Yn anffodus, ni allwn roi eli haul ar blant am resymau diogelu. Felly, gwnewch gais cyn ysgol a dysgwch y plant sut i rwbio ar eu breichiau, eu coesau a'u hwynebau yn drylwyr. Bydd hyn o gymorth mawr i ni.
Gwnewch yn siŵr bod enw eich plentyn ar y tu mewn i bob het haul.
Oherwydd byr rybudd y tywydd yma, efallai nad yw rhai ohonoch wedi prynu siorts neu ffrogiau haf i’ch plant eto. Felly, ar gyfer dydd Gwener yma, os ydych yn cael trafferth dod o hyd i siorts neu ffrogiau haf mewn pryd, rydym yn fodlon ymlacio’r wisg ysgol am y dydd. Bydd hyn yn rhoi amser i deuluoedd gael unrhyw ddillad ychwanegol sydd eu hangen arnynt ar gyfer eu plant mewn pryd ar gyfer wythnosau olaf tymor yr Haf. Yn ein dosbarthiadau hŷn, rydyn ni'n caniatáu i'r plant ddod â diaroglydd ac antiperspirant i mewn. Gofynnwn yn garedig os ydych yn rhoi un i'ch plentyn mai un rholio ymlaen ydyw. Os na, bydd yn rhaid i ni ofyn i'r plant roi'r chwistrell tu allan oherwydd sensitifrwydd ein system larwm tân. Y llynedd, fe wnaeth diaroglydd ddiffodd y larymau tân am 3.05 yn union fel yr oedd rhieni ar fin codi!

Moving Up Day
Our children are having a great time meeting with their new teachers, getting to know each other and beginning the process of transitioning from one class to another. In the year I have been at Panteg (yes, it’s one whole year!), it’s amazing to see how much the children have grown! Some seem to be having growth spurts almost weekly!
Our Year 6 have been out to Gwynllyw having lessons and enjoying learning their way around the site.
Our next moving up days will be Friday, 1st of July and the Thursday, 14th of July. We are so happy to be able to offer these days to our new starters too.
Year 6 Hoodies
Our Year 6 group have now all tried on sizes for their leavers hoodies. You will have received a ClassDojo message to confirm that you are happy with the size. Once confirmed, we will open up for payment on Civica Pay. Therefore, please ensure you have told Miss Llewellyn that you are happy with the size they have picked.
Class Photographs
This is a reminder for our class photographs that are happening on Thursday. Dosbarth Groes Fach (Year 3), will be going on a trip to Greenmeadow that day. Therefore, they will need to be in school uniform for the photograph and then bring in wellies and muddy clothes to change in to. They will have their photograph straight after registration. We attempted to move the photographs a few weeks ago when the class emerged, but unfortunately neither the farm or the photographer had other dates.
New Office Member
We are so glad to welcome Catherine Duke into our admin team. Miss Duke began her role yesterday in the office working in the mornings only. She is looking after our attendance systems and is a person that you will get to know well. Mrs Redwood and Mrs Tudball are thrilled to have her join our office staff.
Absence and Sickness
We've had a few requests for support with regards to when to keep children off school over the last few days. We are always pleased to support and answer questions, but we also want you to have the information at your fingertips. (Please attached to the email our bilingual policy). This policy is really straightforward and sets out common illnesses and the requirements for staying off school. We hope this will help you!
Evie’s Kindness
We are so proud of Evie in our Year 1 class who donated 7 inches of her hair to the Little Princess Trust for children who are going through extreme illness. Da iawn ti!
Summer Playscheme
Further to yesterday’s email, the summer playscheme application process is now open. It’s a first come, first served basis. It is free of charge! Last year, there were people asking about spaces long after the initial advertisement, therefore, please get in today before spaces are opened up to the general public.

The playscheme is due to run at Ysgol Panteg from the 1st of August to the 26th of August.
Urdd Multi-Sports Day Camps
As a result of the playscheme running only until the 26th of August. We have arranged with the Urdd to run sports activities for the final week of the Summer holidays. This means we will also have a childcare facility from Tuesday, 30th of August to Friday, 2nd of August (which, as you know, is a school training day).
Gofal Teg
I’ve had a few enquiries over the last week for Gofal Teg’s wrap around service. Gofal Teg is a separate organisation to the school, therefore, to book a place for September, please contact gofalteg@outlook.com and they will be able to provide you with details and pricing.
Gofal Teg pick children up from our site and walk them over to their building. So, it is a very smooth transition from school to the after-school facility.
New Governor
We are so glad to announce the appointment of a new governor representing Pontypool Community Council. Nathan Warren will be taking up his place at the next governing body meeting. It is so great to have committed people in the community who want to link with the school and develop relationships.
Reminder for Urdd 100 Year Celebrations
Next Friday, 24th of June, we will be having a special lunch and having a day of activities to promote the Welsh language to celebrate the 100 Year Celebrations. On this day, we are encouraging everyone to wear red!
Jubilee Book
As part of the Queen’s Jubilee, every school have the opportunity to opt in to have every child receive a free book about the history of the Queen’s Jubilee. We were hoping that they would arrive in time for the Jubilee lunch we held. However, we are still awaiting their delivery. As soon as we receive them, we will distribute. At present no delivery date has been given.
Tiana’s Success
We are very proud of Tiana from Year 4 who entered the Miss Inspiration UK contest and has won. She gave a speech about her hobbies (such as kickboxing) and is now going to be a representative to work with charities.
Summer Sun
The weather forecast is due to be very, very hot on Friday. According to the BBC, we are looking at a mini-heatwave over the weekend with temperatures reaching around 30 celsius.
Therefore, on Friday, please ensure that children are wearing sun protection. If you wish, they can also have some in their bag to reapply during the day. Unfortunately, we cannot apply sun cream to children for safeguarding reasons. Therefore, please apply before school and teach the children how to rub on their arms, legs and face thoroughly. This will help us immensely.
Please ensure that all sun hats have your child’s name written on the inside.
Due to the short notice of this weather, some of you may not yet have bought shorts or summer dresses for your children. Therefore, for this Friday, if you are struggling to find shorts or summer dresses in time, we are willing to relax the school uniform for the day (within reason). This will give families time to get any additional clothing they need for their children in time for the last weeks of the Summer term. We’d rather children be comfortable and safe than insisting on school uniform for that day.
In our older classes, we allow the children to bring in deodorant and antiperspirant. We ask kindly that if you are supplying your child with one that it is a roll-on one. If not, we will have to ask the children to apply the spray outside due to the sensitivity of our fire alarm system. Last year, a deodorant set off the fire alarms at 3.05 just as parents were about to pick up!
