Ydy'r Academi yn Addas i Fy Mhlentyn? | Is 'Yr Academi' Suitable for My Child?
Mae'r ‘Academi' yn amgylchedd dysgu pwrpasol yn yr ysgol sydd wedi'i gynllunio i gefnogi plant ag anghenion dysgu ychwanegol (ADY) mwy cymhleth a allai ei chael yn anodd cael mynediad llawn i'r cwricwlwm prif ffrwd, hyd yn oed gyda chymorth.
I'w hystyried ar gyfer 'Yr Academi,' mae disgyblion fel arfer yn bodloni'r meini prawf canlynol:
-
Anghenion Dysgu Ychwanegol a Nodwyd: Rhaid bod gan y disgybl anghenion dysgu ychwanegol wedi'u dogfennu sy'n effeithio ar eu gallu i ddysgu mewn ystafell ddosbarth prif ffrwd. Gallai hyn gynnwys anawsterau gyda chyfathrebu cymdeithasol, prosesu synhwyraidd, rheoleiddio emosiynol, neu heriau gwybyddol. Gan fod hyn yn rhan o ddarpariaeth raddedig ein hysgol, disgwylir i ffynonellau cymorth eraill gael eu harchwilio cyn ystyried ‘Yr Academi’.
-
Cynnydd Cyfyngedig gyda Chymorth Prif Ffrwd: Mae’r disgybl eisoes wedi derbyn cymorth ychwanegol mewn dosbarth prif ffrwd (e.e. cymorth unigol, gwahaniaethu arbenigol, neu waith grŵp bach) ond yn parhau i’w chael yn anodd ymgysylltu â’r cwricwlwm neu wneud cynnydd disgwyliedig ar hyn o bryd.
-
Anghenion Cymhleth neu Lluosog: Mae'n bosibl y bydd gan y disgybl anghenion mwy cymhleth sy'n gofyn am lefel uwch o gymorth arbenigol, y gellir ei ddarparu'n fwy effeithiol mewn amgylchedd bach, strwythuredig fel 'Yr Academi.'
Priodoldeb y Ddarpariaeth: Rhaid i anghenion y disgybl gyd-fynd â'r nodau a'r adnoddau sydd ar gael yn 'Yr Academi.' Mae’r ddarpariaeth wedi’i dylunio ar gyfer plant a fydd yn elwa o amgylchedd dysgu strwythuredig, cefnogol, gyda chyfleoedd i gael mynediad i ddosbarthiadau prif ffrwd lle bo’n briodol. Bydd priodoldeb y ddarpariaeth yn cael ei bennu gan gynllun datblygiad unigol y plentyn, trafodaethau gyda’r teulu, gweithwyr proffesiynol mewn cyfarfodydd cynllunio disgybl-ganolog (PCP) (megis therapyddion lleferydd ac iaith, seicolegwyr addysg, cydlynwyr anghenion dysgu ychwanegol ac athrawon dosbarth).
‘Yr Academi' is an enhanced school-based learning environment designed to support children with more complex additional learning needs (ALN) who may struggle to fully access the mainstream curriculum, even with support.
To be considered for 'Yr Academi,' pupils typically meet the following criteria:
-
Identified Additional Learning Needs: The pupil must have documented additional learning needs that impacts their ability to learn in a mainstream classroom setting. This could include difficulties with social communication, sensory processing, emotional regulation, or cognitive challenges. As this is part of our school’s graduated provision, it is expected that other avenues of support have been explored before ‘Yr Academi’ is considered.
-
Limited Progress with Mainstream Support: The pupil will have already received additional support in a mainstream class (e.g., individual support, specialist differentiation, or small group work) but continues to find it difficult to engage with the curriculum or make expected progress at this specific time.
-
Complex or Multiple Needs: The pupil may have more complex needs that require a higher level of specialised support, which can be provided more effectively in a small, structured environment like 'Yr Academi.'
Appropriateness of the Provision: The pupil's needs must align with the aims and resources available in 'Yr Academi.' The provision is designed for children who will benefit from a structured, supportive learning environment, with opportunities to access mainstream classes where appropriate. The appropriateness of the provision will determined by the child’s own opinion, child’s individual development plan, discussions with the family, professionals at pupil centric planning (PCP) meetings (such as speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, additional learning needs co-ordinators and class teachers).
