Governors / Llywodraethwyr

06/10/19  Thank you to all those who expressed an interest becoming a governor.  The ballot has now closed and Victoria Horlor and David Childs have been appointed as Parent Governors.  We also welcome Bethan Roberts as Staff Governor and Ruth Tucker who has been appointed as Community Council Governor.

The main functions of the governing body are to:

  • Take a strategic role in the running of Ysgol Panteg
  • Act as a critical friend to the School.
  • Ensure accountability to the school community.

While we are not involved in the day-to-day running of the school, we take a close interest in the school’s plans, setting targets and monitoring performance.  In addition to six meetings of the full governing body each year, our committees meet regularly to look at Standards & Learning, Recruitment & Resources and Wellbeing.  Link Governors also gain in-depth knowledge of specific curriculum areas and aspects of school life by meeting regularly with school staff.

Our governors have been appointed through various routes, bringing a range of skills and experience to the governing body.  We can be contacted by using the link below.

Best regards

Suzanne Absalom
Chair of Governors, Ysgol Panteg
